Day 247 – Breha Organa

Breha Organa

Breha Organa was the Queen of Alderaan. She and her husband Senator Bail Organa adopted Leia shortly after she was born. Rebecca Jackson Mendoza played Breha Organa in Revenge of the Sith.

For many years Breha was more of a character that was mentioned than seen. Even now there aren’t a lot of visual representations of her but I included a few examples below.

Breha from the end of Revenge of the Sith.
Breha from the comic adaptation of Revenge of the Sith.
A flashback of Breha mentoring Alderaainians from Princess Leia, Part I.
A statue of Breha seen in Princess Leia, Part I.

The most Breha-centric Star Wars content has appeared in books and short stories. Breha not surprisingly plays a large role in the young Leia novel Leia, Princess of Alderaan by Claudia Gray. And the short story by Saskia Maarleveld “Eclipse” that can be found in the anthology From a Certain Point of View is written from Breha Organa’s point of view.

Several fans have also created artwork inspired by Breha Organa such as this example from @ShaunaRust.
